(The only things I would object to in terms of using my art would be posting it somewhere else without my permission or using it for graphics. Just for the record.)

And, Moldie, you tease me. Wink My work is far from gallery standards yet.

Thanks! I would, if there was some way to scan them with a really good resolution (because I'm not sure I could print a poster of these scans without the pixels showing -- but I'm no expert, so maybe these are good enough?). I'll ask my "contact" who usually prints things how large I can print them, and get back to you. Smile

If you'd like, I could send you a higher resolution scan, because these probably aren't large enough (and pixels are ugly Razz ). And a version without a watermark - those aren't all that pretty either, are they? Laughing

Let me know which ones you want. Smile

If you cannot be the poet,
be the poem.

The first page of my new sketchbook, with one of my favourite quotes.

This is [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. It's exactly the same thing, pretty much. I have such a terrible case of artist's block, ever since mid-July, and it's driving me nuts. I have no ideas, no inspiration ... I want to throw my sketchbook at the wall. *sigh*

More stuff; it's not really new, I just haven't posted it before ... mind you, I did take them out of the old sketchbook (which I ruined) and stuck them in my new one. Razz So it's kind of new, maybe ...

I still kinda like this one. I think the colours fit together nicely. Smile

Sketches! From my old sketchbook. This doesn't qualify as 'art', per se, but I always think it's kind of interesting to look through other people's doodles. Smile So here are mine.

And one thing I wanted to mention ...

During yesterday's class, all of the Art Majors were invited down to the Drama Major class to do gesture drawings of the students performing tableaus.

Gesture drawings are quick sketches of a pose, and are timed. We did a couple timed at 60 seconds, then a few at 30, and some at 15 seconds (really hard!). The purpose of the exercise is to focus on the naturalness of the pose and of the body, instead of being too focused on details so that it ends up looking unnatural, you know?

Anyway, I love doing it. We used large sheets of paper and chalk pastel ... and something about making really quick, strong strokes all over the paper feels very, very good. Smile

At the end of the class, we spread all our drawings out on the floor and everyone took a look around at the results. And when I went to grab my drawing board and chalk to take back to the art room, one of the drama students stopped me. After getting the routine "Did you draw those?" he 'tipped' me. Laughing Just a buck, but still - I've been paid for my art before, but never solely for the appreciation of my art (15 second sketches, nonetheless). I just found it amusing and quite a boost to my artistic ego. Wink

I'd offer pictures, but you'd have to pay me. Wink No, I actually don't have the sketches anymore. I kind of regret it - some of them looked pretty cool.

Wow, and wow again!!! You're really something, Jenna! I keep saying that, but I mean it!! cheers Obviously, others notice it too (luckily). Razz

Now, just to be sure: the woman in the first one, that's a photo, right. So it's a collage, right... I love it!

The second one... your sketches look so alive somehow! I just adore them. They move me. Thanks for sharing.

Jenna, they are REALLY nice.
Especially the horse one.
The first one was good too, the woman on there reminds me of a celebrity but I can't remember her name though.

Thank you so much. Very Happy You have no idea how much your comments mean to me - I love sharing my art with others, and it's always so wonderful to know that people really enjoy it.

Yep, Malin, the woman is a photo (I'm not that good yet Razz). It's just a picture I ripped out of a high fashion magazine ... so I can't really think of any names that might help you out, Moldie.

I thought something like either Katie Holmes or some supermodel.

I think that this horrible stretch of artist's block is finally beginning to fade. I spent yesterday evening sketching, and, surprisingly, it wasn't physically painful. Wink

Casanova's Love Letters. Work-in-Progress
A portrait of one of my unicorn characters, Elsewhere, as a person. And a sad attempt at a cityscape. But I erased the background through the magic of photoshop because it looks ugly. Hopefully, it'll look better when I paint it.

A warning to the particularly sensitive and/or those of you at work or school: I advise you not to open this next one up, as it contains mild nudity. Nothing explicit or too offensive, I should hope, but to be safe and all. And to the moderators, if I'm crossing the line, feel free to delete or edit it as you see fit. Smile

Experimenting with strange poses and the like. Razz This was really fun, actually ... and I'm pleased with the result, too. I haven't been able to pick out any glaring anatomical flaws, but give me a few days, and I'm sure I'll find something. Wink

I'm glad you've got inspiration again, Jenna! Love the result, as usual. Smile

You're not crossing any line, as far as I'm concerned. But thanks for the warning, and thanks for pointing out that you're aware that this could be a problem! You're a sensible girl. Razz

I like the second one too. The only thing that strikes me is that something is missing in the picture. I mean, that pose, and ... if not ... oh! Embarassed Eh... Laughing

A good thing you done it Jenna, people can be sensitive to things like that. Usually when I do that, I write warning on them with the link. If something is sexually explicit like that of hardcore porn, I would had deleted it but yours is just an arse showing, you're OK.
A little bit of nudity is alright now and again but as long as it is not anything hardcore or virus ridden.

lol! Well, supposing you're thinking what I'm thinking ... I originally intended for him to be sitting, but I couldn't realistically draw something for him to sit on. And, well, you really wouldn't see anything if he's sitting, and I hadn't thought beyond that, so ... Embarassed Feel free to use your imagination, of course. Wink Laughing
