As far as I know "Rouvas" doesn't have a special meaning, unless it's some special word that the people of Corfu use.

But then Sakis was born and now the surname means "Oh my! What a hunk"

For real?!??

Do you mean that the word "rouvas" supposedly has that meaning on that island, or is it used in that sense only because of Sakis' fame, as some kind of referral to him? Question

In either case, I like it. "Sakis Crazy" ... Laughing

Cool! Very Happy

I wonder if Greeks in general associate his surname with that meaning. I guess that most people only think of it as a name. Or??

My own surname, Forsgren, means "branch of a river" (fors = river, gren = branch), but of course people don't think "here comes Malin Branch of a River" about me ... Laughing With Swedish surnames like Stark (meaning "strong") or Frisk (meaning "healthy"), the story is different: then people immediately think of the meanings of the names.

So, is Sakis Rouvas actually Sakis Crazy to some people or not? Smile

Thanks for the info. Kind of a relief, after all. Having crazy as both middle and last name is of course a tautology ... Laughing

(For those of you who don't know, the saying "crazy is my middle name" means that the person saying that admits to being crazy.)
